Decree No. 90/2025/NĐ-CP dated April 14, 2025 of the Government amending and supplementing certain provisions guiding the implementation of the Law on Independent Audit
On April 14, 2025, the Government issued Decree No. 90/2025/NĐ-CP, which amends and supplements Decree No. 17/2012/NĐ-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Independent Audit. This Decree takes effect from the date of signing, April 14, 2025.
One notable point of the Decree is the expansion of the scope of enterprises and organizations required by law to have their annual financial statements audited by an audit firm or a branch of a foreign audit firm operating in Vietnam. Specifically, it adds a new group of other large-scale enterprises as defined in Point đ, Clause 1, Article 37 of the Law on Independent Audit, which meet at least two out of the following three criteria:
(i) Having an average annual number of employees participating in social insurance of over 200;
(ii) Having annual total revenue exceeding VND 300 billion;
(iii) Having total assets exceeding VND 100 billion.
